THX. Mark! - out of all these incredibile crenicichla the Cr. hu have really caught our eye, the females are absolutely something else... as in spectacular. We have two pair at the moment, both females are inquisitive , very active and outgoing! Augustin < in Argentina > said these are very hard to catch and highly endangered in their native habitat. Take care of them, it could be a while before any more are collected. What a treasure - 1st time USA import!

some info on this Argentina Pike:

Found only in Missiones Province, a river in the Parana drainage at high elevation, and mostly in the headwaters of that river. Ph 7.2, slightly hard water, temperature range from 58F to 78F. This fish can reach a size of 40 cm (16") - a little bigger than most lugubris group crenicichla. Very hard to collect with declining numbers in the wild. A winter cool-down period is recommended for breeding and biotope replication. Higher metabolism than most cichlids, no wonder they seem so hyper with constant activity and inquisitivity.

great pikes they look like a joy to keep, i know mine are!

Nicer fish are always a joy to keep, newly discovered pikes are facinating , and more.....
