lol I'm a nice guy, and you're a hypocrite. I did help; rather than just telling him what his fish is, I also took the liberty of explaining how to tell the difference. My original point was just that you shouldn't buy a fish before you at least have some general knowledge of the species.
That being said, feel free to answer my questions in a similar manner; it would be much appreciated.
Oh sorry bichir master trying to be all helpful now!
Don't really feel like commenting again as I'm wasting time, were on a different level mate.

I think you have a bit of an inflated ego. I was "being helpful" before you even posted. Don't believe me? Notice the post above yours.
Well, I can see where andrewsin is coming from. You could of told the OP in a nicer way is all, instead of telling him he didn't do enough research and making him sound like an idiot because he didn't know the species of it right off the bat.
Oh Dear...

...
First of all thank you all for your concern...
andrewsin, many thanks that you wanted a nicer answer for me, see my other thread in the Arowana Sub-forum if you like to witness the type of aggression I faced here... some members think of new members as feeder gold fish & they like to bully us or even kill us "virtually that is"
drgnfrc13, Believe me it was good enough for me, I have been flamed with serious aggressive comments before, yours was not taken in that way + I explained my situation to you & then you started elaborating & explaining more to me on how to identify my fish. thank you
C L O W N K N I F E, I have a saying that i like to follow, "there is no such thing as "too nice", the nicer you are the merrier"...
Since no one was able to answer your growth rate question: In my experience, they grow painfully slowly, although mine was a slightly deformed specimen that had gotten down to only 1/4" per month before it died at about 7.75". The fastest growth rate I have heard of was about an inch per month until reaching the 8" mark, then much slower growth after that (they usually get to about 12", although up to 14" is possible, especially for wild caught specimens).
I have one of these about 3.5 inches. Ever since I put him in the 75 gallon, he just stays floating up at the top. When I feed the tank, he does not partake in any of the food where as before when I had him in a 10 gallon, he always went to the bottom to eat the pellets. Is this normal behavior for a Bichir ? I see you have two, is it recommend to have more than one ?
when mine was in the 120 he floated at the top, now in my 220 he still floats at the top, not worried since rest of time he's swimming back and forth along the top. i think all bichirs do well in groups, long as they are about the same size, wouldnt want one eating another. when i had 2 they always hid, now that i have more most of them will show themselves.
So I should expect something like 1/4" to 1/5" per month, right?
I was hoping I can place them in my 204G tank after a year or so , but I don't see that happening any time soon, as they are only about 3-3.5" now.
Now I placed them in a 15.5G Tetra Community tank as grow in tank, is there any type of food that will boost their growth?
I plan to give them chopped beef + Frozen & Dried Shrimps + what ever they can get from the pellets I give to their tank mates.
