Grats to OP for getting 2 senegals. Identification should be much easier as you begin to start collecting more different species.
I used to be unable to tell the difference between different poly too.

lol I'm a nice guy, and you're a hypocrite. I did help; rather than just telling him what his fish is, I also took the liberty of explaining how to tell the difference. My original point was just that you shouldn't buy a fish before you at least have some general knowledge of the species.

Well, I can see where andrewsin is coming from. You could of told the OP in a nicer way is all, instead of telling him he didn't do enough research and making him sound like an idiot because he didn't know the species of it right off the bat.

I'm not trying to make anyone feel like an idiot here, I apologize if I came off that way. Again, I just wanted to put it out there that some research should have been done beforehand.

Okay I am now chosing to ignore all the asinine comments about me being the "poly master" (such immaturity is really obnoxious and not helping anyone).

Anyway, OP- I would expect them to be about 9" after about a year. Your current diet plan sounds fine (although some would argue that mammalian meat is not ideal), so the main thing I would focus on to increase their growth would be water quality. Generally, the cleaner the water, the faster they will grow.
