Now this one is for all the WIDE tank MFKers!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes width is Goood and what I'm looking to do on my future tank, plywood, 72x36x not sure of height. Is 30 too high in terms of maintenance reach ? I think I might not like the vacuuming part if it were so high, but I know my fish would love the extra height. Is there any rule of thumb about height vs how many gallons or can we do whatever we want.

I like 24", but it depends if you have long arms or not. Measure from your armpit to your hand and that will give you around how far you can reach in your tank easily. I have friends that can do 30" no problem, and I have friends with 30" tall tanks that get wet armpits everytime they mess around with their aquascape. ;)

I hope to have my 36 inch wide tank within 2 weeks. That 6x5 is an awesome footprint

Wow, there are some really nice wide tanks out there. Funny how most of them have 3D backgrounds...

This is my only tank that would qualify as "wide" - 4x4x2 DIY fiberglass/glass tank.

My 36" deep tank, 8' long and 30" high. Video is old, tank is going through transistion and hoping to add a couple rays so not worth seeing in it's current state.
