On Friday I drove up to VA to pick up the 150 that College Fisherman was selling. Turns out that it isn't a 150. The measurements are 72x18.5x22. By my calculations that puts it right at about 125gal. I'm not too worried about it, cause the price was right, and that's the bottom line (pun intended haha). The only thing that's disappointing about that is that on this site every gallon helps lol. Before I felt like I was bringing a BB gun to a 50. Cal range, now I feel like I brought a 303. Over all I'm VERY excited about this tank! I am going to use it for freshwater until I'm out of the Army, then switch it to salt. I'm doing that because I would hate to spend the extra money on saltwater fish just to have to get rid of them in the near future.

Here is the tank as I got it. Cory's dad was nice enough to throw on some new lacquer, and I think it looks great.

I Went with the latex based Drylok for a sealant.

This is the one of the colors I'm adding to the sealant. I've got black, tan, and a mud red color.

I got a variety of Styrofoam from Micheals. I initially went to home depot to pick up that pink stuff that I've seen several people use, but I was riding with my buddy in his Wrangler, and there was no way they were going to fit. Which in the long run works out I think because I didn't really want to to multiple layers anyway. Below are pictures of the stuff I bought.

I got one of these that I made two decent sized boulders out of.

I got one of these, and I think I'm going to use it to cover one of the overflows.

I got ten of these because the biggest pieces they had were still to small, so I joined them together.

I got three of these that I'm using for the main background, with the addition of the foam in the previous picture.

Here are some pictures of what I've made so far. I got the back side cut and molded, I just need to finish the parts that cover the overflows, and paint and seal them.

More to come as the progress is made!

I got the first layer of colored sealant on the two "rocks" I made from that ball. I forgot to take pictures before I painted but oh well. Here are a few pictures of them with the first coat.

I used the big knife for my large scale trimmings. I used the spoon (both ends) to get the main flow of the lines, and the proper depth I wanted. Then I came through with the smaller knife for the more detailed parts, and the roughing up of my main lines.
