Midas update - 25 Feb 2012

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Scott, always been a huge fan of your Midas and have watched your YouTube videos! I have great plans of keeping Platies/Swordtails with my daughter's Midas also but not sure how it would work out. How did you do the transition/introduction? How big is your tank again? Dimensions? Thanks.

Sean

Thanks, I do my best. It was purely by accident that I found out that he tolerated other fish. A friend that was leaving dropped off some neon tetras while I was at work. Wife dumped them in the tank and they survived. Just went from there and introduced plants as well. There are even earth worms and Malaysian Trumpet Snails in the gravel.

Very nice

I'd love one, but i'm sure it would beat on my Breidohri........ And i can't be having that
I hear ya man, can't have that lol.

I love your set-up. The big beast living in harmony in the midst of a community tank is reall awesome I can't get over how badly I would love to do something like that. I think it's much more of a rarity than the norm unfortunately.
Yeah, he definitely is a rare one. I really can't wait to have him in a 300g,
beautiful!!!!
Thanks
Junior's looking mighty thick these days. How old is the big boy now?
Thanks. He is somewhere around 13". I can't get him to stay still for a real measurement and I am not taking him out of the tank.

video is private?

I can't believe how calm he is. My guy attacks the glass when ever i get close to the tank. I also like the plants, I may try something like that in my tank.

He is like that because he is used to seeing us all the time. We are in a bigger house now, but the tank is still kept in the dinning room. However, when I clean his tank he goes after me and my python like you wouldn't beleive. Has no problem coming out of the water either to get me. Here he is exactly a year ago doing it. I'll get a better video tomorrow.
