Dull eye L191 is coming soon:D

royal is more active now, settled in, it constantly rasps on wood!
i havent seen it suck on wafers yet, but i kow they take time, and more comfy sucking on wood for now, but its belly is definitely full! it seems to really like scraping the young black beard algae! interesting lol
and the wood in there, i can see it defincating lots lol and belly fat looks like the others after feeds:D

Nice fish it looks good

Another thing is I have yet to see a young panaque of the larger types be it 190 or any of the 27's with no window when young. IME all my panaque I grew out lost the window at about 4"-4.5" TL

Heres a 27 you can see the window filling in.

Looks great! this is my new favorite pleco. ^ Jackson ^ What do you mean by window? is that the spot in the tail?

I just bought a large Royal the other day, $120 fish for $30!!!!! Someone at the store mislabeled it and I snatched him up. He isnt the most active, not yet anyway, but Hes always out in plain sight where I can see him. Shreds my drift wood, poops a lot. What I would recommend is have a tank large enough for them, as they do get big, and do frequent water changes. I myself, if he continues to produce as much waste as he does, Ill have to bump up to two or three w/c a week.

Hey, if you want the fish, you need to take the responsibility and properly take care of it. Non the less, beautiful fish, I like them.

its funny, its always full constantly eating wood! and what ever else it can get off the surfaces of rocks, ornaments and wood.
i put a wafer right on its face, briefly rasped it but didnt really eat it like the others yet. its belly is certainly not thing and its eating, i can see its poop too.

wonder why its not attracted to the smelly wafers!

I have three different species of plecos, none of them like the wafers, I just stick with veggies and the wood.
