thanks for the info. wow.. if they were all dead. i think the problem probably ran deeper than just not being able to get them to breed. here in the us, the only place that may have a chance establishing a breeding farm is probably florida and hawaii. and even then i think you need a mud pond to get the best result.
Ya Florida and hawaii's climate would have a higher successful rate. Ya west coast koi's attempt was a devastating tradegy. Our local fish community all knows about it well most of us do but not many of us bring it up especially to the owner of the koi farm.
