Any thoughts with Armatus and Rays together? Has anyone done this? Was it a successfull try, or did it end in a loss for either Ray or Armatus?
Reason why I'm asking, is I love both species, and would love to have them in a tank together! Thanks for anyone's advice expierience & past knowledge!

Good combo and any questions just ask as I had my armatus with my rays for a few years until he jumped out of the tank. The armatus was about 22".

Great combo I have probably one of the biggest armatus on these forums at about 26-28" and a huge girth ,he's probably about 10lbs also.

I have worried more about the smaller 10" rays I have put in with him but he has no interest in any rays whatsoever . He minds his own except keep something in their he can chase.i have two big tin foil barbs he ravages all the time but they survive and it seems to keep him happy. I've heard before that armatus will loose the will to survive in captivity if you don't feed live foods. I feed mine 14" mackerel and smelts frozen! I think the barbs keep mine going!

I'll post some pics maybe even videos of mine when I get my computer back.im running off my iPhone now so I can't at the moment. But I'll tell you one thing that armatus get real big real quick and do require alot of food. It's very hard to train them espcailly small ones as they are so shy and not active in daylight

Armatus is probably the coolest fish you could keep with rays besides golden dorados IMO :)

Thanks Guys. You all helped with my A.D.D.. lol, I have a pair and was told to look out for the aggression of the hydrolycus Armatus. The pair sizes up to be 12inches compared to my 15in+ rays. The rays show no interest as well as the Armatus (im hoping it stays like that). Now here's another question.. Do the Armatus pose a threat to breeding rays? Not that i have bred before(:evil_lol:), but dont wanna ruin my chances if so. Thanks again guys.

why? such an ugly fish! could think of alot nicer fish with colour/pattern etc to grace your ray systems

just my op!

Armatus, G & Vatf would surely look great if u comm them together, just look out for aggression, to be safe.
