They do look a lot like severums when they are older thats true.
Any ideas as to why when the fish was in the bag stressed it had the colour of hypselecara coryphaenoides? cause thats a new one to me.
I know everyone hates pulling out the "Hybrid Card" but is it not possible that H. Coryphaenoides and Temporalis could have a hybrid offspring that sahres similar traits to the parents put looks slightly "Off"
as From what I've been researching both the species of Chocolate cichlids have different morphology, could it not be a combination of these genes that gives my fish that strange look?
I know it probably isnt a hybrid but out of the 2 chocolates that I owned neitehr of them went dark brown with a yellow head and upper body like H. Coryphaenoides when scared.
