Cichlasoma pearsei, Oscar, or Breeding BGJD/EBJD pair?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No, right now my 110 gallon is pretty full.
- 2 gouramis, 1 EBJD, 1 green severum, 1 rainbow cichlid, 1 salvini(who may become tank mates with the oscar), and 6 giant danios(had 12, but spread them out between my other tanks.

I'm getting a 55 gallon soon, tomorrow actually, that I'm going to have my Oscar in(and probably the salvini). Salvini is inch and half about. And I saw some nice Oscars at Petsmart I liked that were about an inch. I'll probably pick one up tomorrow and put it in a 20 gallon I have currently just containing 3 of my Giant danios.
When the 55 gallon is done, they'll go in there.
I'll upgrade and get a bigger tank for them when needed. But from what I've heard oscars don't grow that fast?

I was thinking maybe trying a chocolate in the 110 gallon when I get the Salvini out.
(once again, if things start getting too full with all these guys in the 110 gallon I'd probably get another tank and spread them out.)

~All of my fish are juveniles. none are bigger than 2 and a half inches.

I have a good stocking idea. 55 gallon aquarium-green severum, 110 gallon aquarium-choclate cichlid, EBJD, rainbow cichlid and salvini, (If you get a 75 gallon aquarium) 75 gallon aquarium- 1 Oscar cichlid. (20 gallon aquarium if you get one) Gouramis and danios.

Currently all the tanks I had are
-20 gallon long(no cichlids, it has a frog, catfish, snails, and feeders)
-20 gallon with Danios(moved all 6 into here)
-50 gallon with two black moors, a pearlscale goldfish, one bullied gourami, two plecos.
-110 gallon 1EBJD, 1 Green Sev, 1 Salvini, 1 Rainbow, 2 Gouramis, 6 Danios.

What I'll be getting ~
-55 gallon for an Oscar, and my Salvini will join him because he doesn't get along with my EBJD too good.
Possibly put a chocolate into my 110 gallon.

Later if I had to split up the 110 gallon I'll probably get another 75-90 gallon tank for my EBJD(hopefully he makes it to this point) and Green Severum because they get along really well. Maybe put the Giant Danios in there too, if I unfortunately still have them.

-20 gallon with Danios will probably become a hospital tank.

Hows that all sound?:D Any input on what I plan to do?

Oscars get too big for 55s.

110 gallon- Oscar and chocolate cichlid.
(If you get a 90 gallon)- Severum and EBJD and rainbow cichlid.
(If you get a 90 gallon)plecos and danios and gouramis. (If the plecos are common plecos they will grow big and take up a 90 gallon aquarium.)
I gures you could leave your cold water 50 gallon the way it is.

I know the Oscars get too big for a 55, especially with a tank mate. But I'd still probably separate how I said. Then just get another tank for the Oscar and Salvini.

I'm not keeping both of my Plecos, one is going to a friend. I'm aware how large they get.

And my 50 gallon isn't cold, I have a heater in it. But my Black moors and Pearlscale are staying. I like them. The bullied Gourami in there seems fine, it doesn't bother the goldfish and they could care less about it. Later if it becomes a problem, and I have other tanks I'll put it in with the cichlids. but for now, the other Gouramis were bullying it, so it stays in there.

Danios I hopefully won't have anymore. But I wouldn't get them a tank all their own...especially cause I don't really like them.

here is a other idea for stocking.

(If you get a 75)- severum and EBJD and danios
110-Oscar and choclate cichlid
(If you get a 75 gallon aquarium)-Common pleco, salvini and rainbow cichlid
Anyway what kind of gouramis are they?

Danios are gone, somebody off a fish forum for my area wanted them.
And my friend took one of my Plecos.
They're just regular Gouramis. A Blue one and a Gold one.
The one with the goldfish is a blue too.

I haven't gotten a chocolate yet. I'm still debating on what I want to do.
I got an Oscar but he might not be big enough to go with my Salvini. So....I might have to switch him out. Or I'm debating on a JD pair.
After looking at a bunch of pictures of fish with fry, I'd really like to try it out.

We'll see ~~

you could get a pearsi as long as you know that later down the line you will have to upgrade to a 75, and im going to be totally honest with you, most people who get a 55g cichlid tank end upgrading it to a 75 even if there stock don't NEED the extra space.

Chocolate cichlid is another oscar like intelligent fish thats very owner responsive and colourful and also relatively peaceful

75gallon? I must be thinking of a different fish? hmmmm..... maybe 1/2 of 1 pearsi could fit? even then, it will be a tight fit.
