When painting the back of the tank glass black, do you you flat black or gloss black, and what works better, latex or oil base paint.

Thanks in advance.

I used both - (two different tanks, didn't mix) and I used spray paint - both look good IMO and both worked out well ;)

I couldn't tell much of a difference between the two either..

Matte black spray paint.

Use spray paint. I used a roller and latex and it was hard to get it to stick to the smooth surface

Thanks, and i guess i will use a Flat Black latex Paint with a roller, because spraying it would be to much over-spray do to the fact i want to do this without moving or emptying my tank.

I HATE using spray paint on tanks, never again. You get thin patches the light or wall behind the tank will show through. I use Latext basex paint, put the tank on it's face, tape the edges off and use a normal house roller to apply. I only use matt finish so it does not reflext light when taking pics. This is the only way to go IMO if you want it done right the first time.
