Manatees in Florida are protected by both state and federal law. They are protected by two federal laws: The Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 and the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Manatees are also protected by the Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act of 1978. Illegal to own, you might wanna contact Florida Wildlife and Conservation and let them know what's up before they find out and you get a fine or worse.
Florida is not the only place has manatee.. :screwy:

Also thats not Shamu, thats Snooti....
I didn't say that's Shamu... That's "next!"

I know who's Snooti, but you obviously don't know Shamu... :grinno:

Wow, thats awesome, did you choose the land because of the matatee? lol I would have... and i bet that there is plenty of vegetation under water. trees and moss. He has lived there this long with an owner trying to feed him fish... :)

Really cool. Def keep it.

Also, good job dealing with all the haters.

"He's sick and starving, he needs a vet, you aren't smart enough or can afford to keep something like that." All by looking at one pic, of a tail?:screwy:

Don't give the manatee away! At least in the pond it is safe from its #1 enemy: motorboats. And it must be stable in its home considering it has been there a long time... don't fix what ain't broke.
