Yahoo Article About "Armored Catfish" also known as a common pleco

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No! They also eat small crocodiles too!

Oh that's right, how could I forget!

I just find it amusing that it's a pleco, not a carnivorous fish, but an algae eater. It is a true problem but I get a bit of a laugh out of how the media blows it up. it's just sad in reality because it's going to make more regulations and bs for people like us.

Am I missing something? What is supposedly so funny about this article?... :screwy:
Same here......These are not snakeheads were talking about. Totally different fish with different problems.

While reading this article I am staring at my cute little pleco. Of course it's not a common pleco but instead it's an ancistrus. He actually is pretty mean at fish who invade his area. He bites my gourami when he comes too close in his little house.

Ok that's true they can bite fish be territorial, ect... But I'm saying it's not like a predator fish such as a snake head

Common Plecos occasionally feed on small aquatic inverts such as Shrimp in addition to plant matter. But yes, it's still a retarded article. :grinno:

I also heard that plecos pull your legs into the water with their sucker mouths and drown you to feast on your flesh. Lol. It is a problem but people shouldn't go crazy about it.

I always thought it'd be a sucky way to die to fall into the Amazon and be rasped to death by hundreds of Plecos.

Nope it's not retarded article, sorry to bust your bubble. The snakehead article is the retarded article.

Yeah, looks like we're all worrying about fish articles because of the stupid snakehead fiasco

the media blew up snakeheads too

The thing is, unlike the ridiculous articles on snakeheads, there's really nothing "blown up" in this particular article. It is a pretty well known fact that plecos' burrowing habits are wreaking havoc in many southern ecosystems, and there's really not a lot of humor to be found in the situation.
