How do you know it's not 90? Find me a good artical proving this wrong. As you stated, you never delt with cichla before. So if you have no other comments or help to the situation, bounce your arse someplace else "lean mean"

Ive spawned them many times and never raised the temp like that.

What temp do you keep yours at. Please enlighten us. I know you spawned a couple batches, why not help the rest of us.

i was told when i got my first little bass to keep the water at 30 degrees because the high tempriture kills free swimming white spot!

The average brood was about 600 fry. My biggest problem with 90 degrees is Oxygen. This pair spawned the first time @ 10" and 10 months old. Im no expert, I learn something new every week about Cichla.

Dearly noted brochbuild. So, 79 would be a good target temp for the bass? O2 would be need at higher temps. Thus saying a couple of sponge filters would work. I'm new to spawning bass my self and there isn't really any good reads about spawning bass. I'm learning as well. Glad you chimed in to give a little insight of how to hatch cichla eggs.

One time I did have higher temp of 85 and instead of 72 hr hatch it was closer to 48. Also free swimming fry dont get Ich......they just drop like flies.

That's what I read to. Between 86-90, the eggs hatch quicker. Insted of the normal 78 hours, 48 hours with the higher tems.

90F seemed crazy that's why? High temps =less O2. It was never stated as a fact it was a question.
