Mom arrested for taking 5 year-old tanning

Who cares what she looks like?
Her appearance has diddly squat to do with her parenting. Dont like it, dont care. Fact is, there is no evidence presented to show she is mentally ill. You fail.

He** yea it does! This lady is telling her child vanity is more important than health. The kid is fair skinned and red haired, exactly the type of person who should NOT tan. Then it goes beyond that, where she litterally broils her skin to look like leather. I don't know about you, but I can usually detect a mental case fairly quickly, alot of times it's their appearance that gives you the first clue.

I fail? What your quiz? Are you a parent? Do you work in Schools? Do you counsel parents who have their kids taken away from them? My guess is "no" to most of these questions. I would bet my whole fish collection that the girl will grow up very troubled.

As long as the girl did not go in the tanning booth, nothing illegal was done. I equate it to the mom taking her daughter to the beauty salon. Good judgement...maybe not; Illegal....definately not. We can't have the state/govt going in and taking children away everytime the general public does not agree with someone's lifestyle. Where is the line going to be drawn? That is why there are laws. In no way do I agree with what the mother is doing to herself but I see nothing illegal done in this case. Just another media circus being started!

Dosent matter if the kid didnt tan. The mom obvously has something wrong with her to the point where her reality is so distorted to think that looking like she does is ok. Tired of damaged people raising damaged kids.

Passing judgement due to appearance without knowledge is far more distorted, its why finatics scare me esp when they have power. This country wasnt established to force beliefs on other Americans resulting in the removal of rights and reduction of freedom. I mean this in no offense to you, each individual has the right as an American to have and state opinion as I strongly believe, when that opinon is pushed onto others forcefully it results in oppression. This is an act of fanatacism.

All people are damaged the belief that you are not is deluded, we all have faults and regrets it is what makes us human.

Please dont take this insultingly, as they are my opinions and I dont have the power to enforce them or restore our ever fleeting rights.

roflmao, the kid didn't tan! no different then a parent who smokes or drinks and drives, doesn't mean you're teaching your child to do it.

I realize this, I'm saying the kid is 5 years old, it won't be long untill she wants to do what mommy is doing, take a look at the picture of the mom one more time, do you see this lady telling her daughter tanning is bad? We are talking about cancer vs. what mommy perceives as a "pretty" skin color, I agree, a lot of this really shouldn't even concern me, but if we're going to talk about it, lets see all the angles.

the kid just got a bad sun burn from being in the sun, what makes you think it's going to want to tan after experiencing that pain?

Looks like people read the title and never read the article. The beef jerky face mom took her kid to a tanning salon but did not take her child tanning

I did read, unless I'm wrong she says she didn't but the cops say she did so, and the kid also said she did. So right now we don't know which ones the truth.
