Where can you buy a real red texas? Does anyone know of an online vendor that sells them? I bought a "red texas" from seacrest months ago... it turned out to be a ****ty flowerhorn with a tiny bit of red in its belly. My brother really wants one and I was thinking about buying him one for his b-day.

Aquabid has them from time to time, but a good quality is going to cost you a fair amount of money.
Well for starter they start out plain and develop a lot more after you bring them home. There are a few trusted sellers on Aquabid that carry them but you should contact Chris (Cjbarth) on here, he breeds them.
Cool didn't know someone on ]v[FK breeds them, thanx for the info. bro. I've been thinking about getting a RT, but always worried about finding a reliable source.

I'm wondering, because a red texas really is just a hybrid of a texas and some other cichlid to produce a redder version of a texas.
So how do we actually define a 'true red texas'? Any degrees of red, requirements on scales, lack of certain features, etc. etc.?

Super gets thrown around a lot and is essentially a marketing technique. Basically means high quality or really red.
