Oil slick ontop of tank ?

Looks like gas or some type of oily substance.... Weird... I will be skimming the top of the water with a bucket to get it all... anyone else ever had this ?

There's been a lot of threads about this lately.
Lay a paper towel on the surface. It'll soak up all the oil after a couple of tries. Works like a charm... at least for me it does haha
 
yea i've had that in my 10 gallon back a few years ago. I dont know what it is either hopefully comebody can chime in on it. dont know about you but for me it always seemed to go away right after water changes, but return again the next day or so.
 
I have my fx5 pointed at surface. Also have a emperor 400. Is that not enough surface agitation ? I HATE bubbles in my tank... lol
 
Do the paper towel trick...
I have the same problem as you and this trick solves it.
