We filled it and added 35 gallons of water from three other tanks to help get it cycling, and we let it run for 3 weeks before we checked the water....one night before we headed up to bed it happen ......The FOAM all broke loose from the tank from the bottom first than the back ground ....EVERYTHING was not FLOATING......IMG_2007.JPGIMG_2008.JPG
Even with some heavy stones on the bottom it was no match.....Our next task was to drain the tank and find something that would keep this stuff attached to the tank.....

Silicone will not bond to acrylic. Is that what you used? I don't know what you could use that would both bond to the acrylic and the foam board...

Looks great, keep the driftwood as is, just do water changes to keep the pH where it should be. I don't know why people think that African tanks don't work with driftwood, last I checked, Africa has trees and some even fall into the water :o .....hence driftwood in Lakes Malawi/Tang/Victoria etc.
:D

Cheers

I seem to hear this type of thing on every forum I have looked at..." Its the Wrong type of Substrate" .."You would never see those fish in the Wild together"...etc,etc,etc. Just because you or the way you keep a tank, your house, your animals are the same as anyone else does not make it WRONG!

This is a Hobby. for the most part we enjoy looking and keeping fish it does not matter if your "BIOTOBE" includes a Pineapple under the sea from Spongebob or a Sunken Ship with bubbles coming out of it. What matters if that you/we respect the animals we keep by giving them a good safe, clean place to live and understand what they NEED.

I have not posted the final few pictures yet with the Rocks and open swimming areas yet Or the filtration set up I have used. I plan on getting to that later in the week.
