Anyone else have this problem with oscars?

Apparently my baby O is braver than I realized
;-) he tried to swallow one whole, but it was too much.
I use a single-edged razor to cut them to about 1" for now.
 
Lol I gave him a small worm a few minutes ago. He laid in his side, then looked at it, and finally bit bit.. But then he instantly let go and bolted across the tank and has been on his side for the last 10 min

That is nuts. At least the one in the video is not fainting like the OP Oscar haha.

At least he tried a little one. Could be that wiggling is part of his problem, the little worm must've squirmed when he nibbled.
Try cut pieces, then he can taste the guts right away.

Lol. It looks like that oscar just doesn't know the worm is food. I bet a couple slices in it would help.
 
The story with him is he was a rescue HITH case. I got him when he was around 11" and he had never had earthworms. After getting him healed up I tried one one day and he grabbed it right away. The second that that worm thrashed in his mouth he freaked out spitting it out as fast as he could, turned to bolt away and smacked his head on the piece of driftwood. I'm not sure that'll he'll ever eat worms now...
