Probably my first post in months here, but I have been reading the fishing forums regularly.

As title states.
I am about 6'5, 34 inch seam.
Tried out a few wilderness ones, didn't seem to fit right.
I know your legs are to be somewhat bowed when sitting, however it still felt to cramped and couldn't stretch out.

I would like to take on larger open bodies of water (the great lakes) if possible.

Looked into the jackson cuda, looks like a nice boat, with the way everything is designed and thought of for ease of access, however I have to find one locally to see if I can even fit.

If you know of any model that works well with taller anglers, please let me know.

Thank you

You stumbled onto a winner there. The Jackson kayaks are some of the most stable kayaks on the market by far. They have a new "converytable kayak called the Big Tuna complete with live well. It can either be a tandem or very large single. Even the biggest guys can use it. I do think you'll be just fine in the Cuda though. Unless you were going to try fishing while standing, I would suggest because of your height to keep the seat in the low position.

The big tuna does look really awesome, was unaware of that model. I am just interested in how well/easily it would do/trek solo. As I don't mind a tandem, but 80% of the time it would be just me, so don't need to suffer if it can't handle it.

If weight is an issue, go with the Native Ultimate. It's kayak/canoe hybrid, very stable and is considerably lighter. If your using a truck with a bed extender, weight shouldn't be too much of a factor anyways...unless you park far from where you put in...but then a small kayak cart/dolly can fix that issue quickly.

i like to slouch alot when chillin on it and me knees are bent but i assure you i can sit straight up and lay me legs flat. but most of the time they're over the sides anyways.

Go with a Hobie mirage drive. I wouldnt go back to paddling for anything. Hands free pedaling is the way to go. Its SO much easier to fish.
I've looked into these now. Do like the idea. Wonder how the propeller ones are in comparison to these. The propeller I could see getting in the way, nice it can go in reverse though.

I paddled one of those. I thought it was alright, super stable, but didn't like the idea that no scupper holes bc you sat lower.

will have to look into, thanks.

I gotta go with Wilderness Ride 135 here. I absolutely love mine and you can't go wrong with a Wildy yak!

does look like a nice yak. Like that I can easily fit on it

well still looking. Really starting to like the idea of a drive system more and more. Almost went to pick up a hobie outback very slightly used but being an older model (before 06) hull was prone to cracking

I love my outback. You wont regret it, but try to find a newer one. I scored a like new '11 outback and a good used '07 sport for a total of two grand.
