Hey guys, A little problem, I'm clicking On the 'reply' button next to your messages but they appear to be just showing as regular responses?

*EDIT*

Sorry, I should leave that for the help section, Sorry

After looking into Peacock bass', I've really taking an interest in them. Anyone have any experience with them and would like to share to me? Sorry for being all around the place, I've just never had this many options to choose from in therm's of fish :)

if the plan is still oscars i would avoid p bass, my advice figure out your CENTER PIECE fish first , otherwise your gonna end up with a cluster f in there , the body count will rise until you figure out what your after...

trust me this is why i had like 3456789 tanks in my house, its friggin sea world up in here and it all started because i was impulsive.

basically google the crap outta everything you can see and pick your top 5 then figure out what is gonna work with your tank and gear and go from there make a short list and shorten it , once you have your focal point of your tank then you have some room either way to make some tank mates..

I just scooped up 6 wild orinoco oscars and they are soooooo awesome, tiny like 2 inches , so there in my grow out tank but they are gonna be in my big tank as my focal point until i can get a pair and then thats gonna be it in there,

I know the alure of having 28495 different types of fish in one tank sounds like a great idea but in all reality there is always issues with tank mates, and you'll end up with one bully so you will set up a new tank for the bully and before you even get him in the new tank someone else will be ready to take his place as the tank d bag, its the way it goes with cichlids
there are sooo many choices and it can go sideways really fast so READ until your eyes hurt and figure out what it is your trying to do long term with your tank, better to take it slow and make the right choices first both for your future fish and also for yourself, it sucks finding out the hard way that this fish can swallow that fish etc etc
not only is it a bad idea but it gets pricey fast ,

NO MATTER WHAT YOU PICK get it from a quality source, better to start off with something ballin than have to have something that kinda resembles what it is supposed to be.

and dont let your lfs sell you some bullony if you know what i mean most of the major brand ones will tell you a bunch of inaccurate facts , so do your own research

If you get clown loaches I would make sure to get at least 5, and try to get them 4+ inches. They do grow slowly and like to be in groups. Oscars have insanely large mouths, so small loaches will almost certainly be eaten. If you provide enough cover for the loaches you might be able to get 3 inchers. :) good luck!

Thanks a lot man, Very helpful, I think the peacock bass idea was just a small faze. I'll probably head with oscars, They have great personality and all.

Any tips on keeping a Jack dempsey and what sort of pleco could go well with them all?

Any loaches will need to be large, otherwise it will be Oscar food sooner or later. JD should be fine in a 150. If clean up crew is what you are looking for, I recommend a larger synodontus cat like a lace cat...easy going, not a crap machine...only drawback is no algae cleanup.

If your heart is set on a pleco and cost is not a concern, go for a sunshine...it's a carnivore thus no algae clean up but they are beautiful. You might also consider a green/blue phantom, they don't get too big and they do clean algae.
