Help fast. Are my FHs fighting or breeding.

The female( seller said) will chase the male then leave some times. No real damage done. The male will go to the top corner and the female will come back calmly. It looks like she is trying to bite his tail the male swings his tail a bit and stays in the corner and the female leaves, then this repeats.

I've got a divider in and they are interested in each other and are digging. I'm guessing part of the problem is the male is a cm smaller than the female when it should be double. Can I breed them through the divider. It is egg crate

I let the divider out. They follow eachother and circle eachother a bit and swing and slash their tails at eachother. when the do this they flare their fins and their he'd is pointed down sometimes. Is this good
