Once you go community, you don't ever go back.

Well it's not the prettiest thing ever but here's my 55 gallon!

I have the most ridiculous combo and I have no idea how it's still working out...:

3 blind cave tetras
7 neon tetras
1 red tail black shark
1 kribensis cichlid
1 three-line rasbora because the others died of various causes
4 zebra danios left from six, same as above
1 albino bristlenose pleco
1 Asian knifefish

I've had very little trouble keeping the neons with all these semi-aggressive fish for some reason... I always say they're street smart lol! The more "aggressive" species mostly keep their distance, the knife chases other fish sometimes and so does the krib but otherwise the only ones that have ever killed anything are the blind caves. I want more blind caves but I'm not sure if I can, I'm pushing it as it is. I could really use a better filter for starters.

Awesome tanks guys!
With my current main tank I am trying to set it up as a community tank. Not the greatest aquascape I know, also I have gone for big community species that are pretty peaceful, still will add a few more species soon. Don't know what though.
Current stocking is;
1 x NTT
1 x pearsei
1 x AUL
1 x lemon barb (who is getting massive)
1 x geo
1 x chocolate cichlid
1 x gold spot pleco
3 x tinfoil barbs
5 x bala sharks
6 x filament barbs
10 x clown loaches

But I do love the community tanks, especially compared to a lot of the bare tanks (not hating on them, they are awesome and guys put fish in them I could only dream of owning). As my tank is the main feature of the house I try to have a calm tank that looks good and is fairly colourful etc though has a few laid back monsters of course.
Check out my sig for pics. They are a bit old now, may do an update soon!!

I'm waiting till my polleni passes so i can convert the 60G into a nice community planted tank...

people and they're pretty tanks, its whats in them that counts

I went from Cichla to planted community for quite a while. I got so bored with it. I just went back to Cichla.

Yeah I had my 30g planted very heavily for a while with guppies and a ton of shrimp. Was really cool to watch but I realized I didn't care one iota for any of the individual fish in it, except for maybe the little pleco. Who I named Pleco Burress.

Point is, got tired of it and converted the 30 to a grow-out, then replaced it with a 75 when I had bigger fish to grow. Don't think I'm likely to do small fish community again when I can still do heavily planted for my predators.

My 55... only reason its so base is I'm going to be moving the whole tank across the room sometime this month and I wanna be able to do it quickly. When I do get it moved it'll have sand and probably some more rock structure.

BTW my tank's water doesn't really look like that, those red rocks do a number on my camera.
