I just converted to sand. Need something to help keep the sand stirred.

Needs to be compatible with an Oscar, hes only 1-2 inches just born like a few weeks ago so I dont have to worry about introducing or anything

I know sand gets anaerobic bacteria in it if not stirred so often and honestly the height of my tank and wideness of it worries me because it's hard to get arm deep and far back to properly stir it like I figured it would need. AND even if it doesn't need it I still prefer it to be stirred and stuff just for personal preferences.

I'm looking for something that is also compatible (big enough) to hang with the Oscar(not be eat..)
I was thinking an Eel due to how they burrow in the sand (stirring it essentially) but I don't want that BIG of a commitment in my tank I want something smaller not 5x bigger than an Oscar lol not to mention I've converted ALL my tanks expect my hospital/quaranteen tank which has pink gravel (I'm never parting with that <3) so I basically would get about 10 of them for all my tanks combined (what ever it may be, oscar tank being the most "GRRRRR" tank I have)

Give me some ideas of house mates, fish-or inverts I don't care..

Also Like I said.. It is more of a personal preference I CAN do it myself I just like to see how it happens naturally not man stirred.

We need size of tank.

Check out some geophagus, all they do is sift sand

I've never seen a Threadfin which is my favorite!

Would this be a good one? Surinamen Geophagus or a Threadfin (If I could fine one) I like the threadfin better..

Are you talking about Heckeli when you say threadfin?

Banjo cats, assassin snails, larger brochis cats. But size of the tank matters too.

my Geos only sift from the surface of sand, including the 2 heckelii. I turn it myself during each water change.
Your sand would have to be a very thin layer.

75, 125, 220 is my main concern.. my 10,20 and 40 have much lower stands for my to not care to do it by hand and while vacuum..

Yes, I like the Heckelii would a single one be okay by itself?

I do plan on doing it as well during WC... I just wanted to spice it up with something that would play with the sand since I just went sand from gravel (Gravel for 10 years straight big gravel too) they dont have to throw the sand like a salad just interact with it more than a regular fish if that makes sense..

What about something other than Eartheaters like something more unique (something other than a common fish shape like a invert or something)
