This is my new fav bass lure, besides the trusty spinner and buzzbait

I used to use Manns but that lure gets me so dang mad, I never seems to swim correct, I have to finagle the the bill at times and even shave it, the hooks almost always end up around the bill, etc. I have since retired the manns and now use Live Target. I got several at Dicks, they are $7.00 each, I went to Bass Pro, they had them started at $17 and higher, not sure why.

They even have them at depths of 0-1 feet, I think it is. The Manns was 0-3 feet, so you can take this lure places the manns can go without slowing down. Perfect for shallow smallie fishing in creeks.

Bass Pro and Cabela's are usually more expensive in my experience! That will probably help me with my bait catching! Here in Texas, largemouth go crazy for perch and brim! Lol

make your own. this is the most rewarding way to catch any fish. i make all my muskie spinners and bass spinners. just go to lurepartsonline.com and get some things. wire, perch flashabu, lure bodies(weighted blades and treeble hooks. just tie the flashabu on the hook and seal with clear nail polish to hold the knot on the flashabu. use gold lure bodies and make a small mepps style spinner. you'll get all the bass you can handle and it will be on something you made.

an example of the savings...one muskie cowgirl from retailers $18-25 each. i make at home $9-13 depending on blade size. they look just like the brand name, work like the brand name, but are in colors i choose and i make it so every fish is more rewarding because i caught them my way and not the way everyone else does.

My favorites are Roboworms either Texas rigged or on a shaky head or a Rapala suspending crank.

i cast and retrieve any spinners, but i do catch bass bottom fishing on the river. plastic worm rigs work well also, but it is hard to make them yourself. just a spinning rod with 12-20lb fireline and i put a leader on due to all the pike/muskie up here. you could even do a bobber with a live minnow or sucker/shinner. bluegills work well if you can use them legally.

Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, and crankbaits are all probably the easiest to use. I prefer to use Booyah buzzbaits, and Terminator spinners. The Booyah buzzers have a clacker that hits the propellor as it spins making it a little louder - I've found I get more hits from larger fish with this small addition. You'll probably also catch more pike, but oh well.

I also love using a 6 inch powerworm with a bullet weight. It's called a Texas rig. Great for deep weedbeds or fishing the edges of reeds and grass.

Yeah I use little worm jigs for catching small perch and bream and i use that for bait and largemouths love em!
