CA cichlids that stay under 7"?

Cryptos, like nanos, panamensis?
Archocentrus species?
Some of the Thorichthys genus?

There really is loads. It depends on a lot of factors, i.e obtainability, tank size and tankmates.

But what are you looking for? Colour, personality, are you wishing to breed them?
 
I meant ca/sa. I would wanna breed them. Not planning to sell the fry. I kinda want a community tank. I have a 135 with only salvini in it but I'm planning to move the salvini in a different tank. I'll transfer my cons and hrps to my 135 after taking out the salvini.

I want color and personality. The salvini are really colorful but they're so skittish they won't even defend their fry when I'm near.

Males don't stay under 7 but i'd consider nics
 
What are nics? Sorry for the question but i havent really kept anything else besides kribs, cons and salvini.

Im looking for something that has a personality like an hrp. Theyre not as aggressive as cons but they can hold their own.

Nics are h. nicaraguense a.k.a. Nicaraguan cichlid. Have to agree with blue acaras, easy to breed, colorful, not particularly shy.

I just did a little research and im kinda interested in this one called cryptoheros panamensis(?)

Can anyone give me info on this fish? All the sources online say the same thing. I wanna hear a first hand experience with this fish.
