Forget the buckets. By a waterchange hose. I use it to vacuum the tank and to fill it. I have a 125 and normally add four caps of prime when I'm finished. One cap per 50 gallon it says, but I still do four.

I have one friend locally that still only likes using buckets. But every other fishkeeper I know is using a hose from the sink (usually draining out a door or window with a separate hose first) or doing some sort of auto change system.

I use a strong pond pump to empty it (using plastic tubing) down the sink, and then using a garden hose attached to a special attachment on the faucet.
I change all of my aquariums (about 14 of them) in 35 minutes flat, including 3 75's.

Fx5 can change water.

But my tanks right next to window, I use 3' hose to drain it outside, then unscrew my shower head in my bath room, and I use a coupler to attatch a 20' section of light duty garden hose, then fill it up. 10$ easy we cake and I can control temp.

Before this the good old 5 gal bucket for 30 min. Don't miss that at all lol

Thanks for all the replies guys. I appreciate it a lot.

So when i take out 25% of the water i just add prime to the tank then fill it with tap water directly from the tap?

Craigslist bro, poat want to buy add. I can't tell you how many I've picked up over the years with or used tanks. Also, you can DIY your own from Home Depot.

Yes. Dose for the whole tank though. It's a 135 right? 3 capfuls of prime and your ready to add water back into your tank.

I have PVC pipe, that runs from each bank of tanks out to my gardens. Turn a valve, and in about 10 minutes, about 100 gallons of water flows to the flowers in front, and another 100 gallons waters veggies in back from a different bank of tanks. Each bank is about 350-400 gallons. A Python refills the tanks from the tap, a bloop of sodium thiosulfate to neutralize chlorine and a 1/4 to 1/3rd water change is all over. I try to do that every other day or so, but with this summers heat, been doing it every 2 out of 3 days.

I would love to see a thread all about this setup with lots of pictures
