What media to put in an emperor 400?

Reticulated sponge.
Any media that will fit. I put Eheim Effisubstrate Pro in mine. Works like a charm.

to answer your previous q; an aquaclear 110 sponge or similar sponge ,cut to fit will work well

lol, sell ur filter buy an ac110 way better. Or just get a canister or sump that way u never have to upgrade even if u get bigger tank. U can buy a roll of filter sheet for 8$ at ur lfs u can cut the size urself and any ceramic media is good, or matrix or Chem stars

Yea I feel u its always good to have a backup, I always run an hob even with canisters. And sometimes lfs has deals u can't pass.
