I think the fine 60 million was way to light. They should of hit them with at least triple that and then took that money and donated that money to child abuse and Child Molesation support groups. Crimes against children are unacceptable and they people who cover them up are just as worse as the scum committing the crimes.

The money is going toward child abuse foundations. I'd rather it was 10-15 mil a year for 10 years toward child abuse charities.

USC didn't get swatted for money and did not lose as many scholarships and only vacated their bowl games. This is way harsher

Kelly, the coach, athletic administrator and school president were all involved. This WAS athletics and academics intertwined

Oh. Well maybe that's different then. I think I rescind prior comments. The students still don't deserve to suffer. Can't we punish the people without punishing the school? Legit question.

The coach is dead, the molestor locked up for life, the AD and president are awaiting criminal trial plus the civil suits.

Guy had been molesting kids for 30 years, people from the school allowed him to stick around and use their facilities. Of course the school should be hammered too

I disagree. We are already punishing the people involved. Why punish the innocent student body as well?

On the flip side of that statement, I have not been following this as avidly as I presume some of you have so it may very well be that I missed something of import along the way to sway that opinion.

Yes innocent people are being hurt, but that's why all this started. Although the wins will be struck from the record books the accomplishments of the players can't be taken away. What did change is JoePa going from the all time winningist coach of all time to the 12th. Championships are being stripped from the school on paper, but the players will always know they earned it. I don't think this will hurt the former players, except in their opinion of the school and the staff. Current players are being given a free pass to transfer which is unheard of. Recruits will just choose a different school that is bowl eligible. The school is the one that will suffer in the longer run, and hopefully will serve as an example for other schools to not cover up indiscretions the way Penn St did.

A quote from a friend who is the sportswriter for the area paper

"The Penn State football carcass is getting picked over by other college football programs the way the horse was swarmed at the end of the "Walking Dead" pilot."
