It's because the school was not recognized for anything else. He became their claim to fame

No different then say.....bill cowler. Everyone thinks he's great and knows how to win. He contributed one damn championship in all those years

I stated this before, Sandusky worked under Paterno up until 1999. Sanduskys molesting took place afterwards. Even if I'm wrong about Paterno having the power to fire someone... he couldn't fire someone that's not working for him.

Even though we don't know what Paterno said to the others in regards to the emails. It does point that He DID help in the cover up.............there I said it
wow , I KNOW you have a hard time admitting when your obviously wrong ,but get over the ",we dont know...about paterno.".everybody thats got a little sense knows paterno got his way at pennst. as many d1 coaches do, he was to college football the same as don corleone was to the mafia.not trying to start a fight with you just pointing out the horse has left the barn and your still tryin to close the door.... peace

i didnt read the entire thread but i live in pa and use to watch penn state football every saturday. id like to know why paterno was looked at so greatly. i mean he coached for 500 yrs and only won 2 championships. im done with them. theres plenty of other good college teams to root for.

pitt panthers could use a few good fans!

Don't forget that they took down the giant statue of JoePa, although the original plan wasn't to remove it but to just alter it so he's looking the other way.

I cant believe I MISSED this 1 ,well spoken:headbang2

X2, I'm not much of a collage football fan but when I watch it seems they were lucky to make it in the top 25. I lean towards UT

and this post explains why you dont know the power structure of college football, once again ....peace
