I'm thinking about dismantling my plywood koi pond and buying a 5x3' footprint 225 gallon acrylic. Comes with everything. Amazon fish have always been my favorite. And that's actually a very big 225. And I can use the same drip system I have over the pond. It'll be a good work load, but I think I could dismantle and build in one day if I start early. It would probably smell less too.

Any thoughts? What would you guys stock in that Amazon style? I was thinking a combination that actually gets along this time.

Edit: Would anybody (locally) be interested in buying the pond if I help rebuild it at your place?

i would go for it. if you were closer i would have done it with you. i would put a silver arrowana, peacock bass ,a bunch of amazonian cichlids and a red tail catfish or tiger shovelnose catfish till they grow 2 or 3 feet.

Well since you asked i will tell.........

simple concept for me here: 540>225. Your current pond is over twice as big as the tank your intending to replace it with. Me personally i would definitely keep the pond and try to find away to get the 225 up and running and have both. But i certainly wouldn't get rid of the pond, no way.

Well the tank I was after was sold, but I'm still looking to go back to a wide footprint tank.

Dismantle the pond you ask? lol. Because I want to keep fish that require 80+ degree temps. My pond sucks to heat and makes wayyy too much humidity. Plus it's in my parents basement so if I bring one in, the pond has to go. Per parents rule lol.

Duuude I know your tank is soooo b!tchin. Just may be out of the price range at the moment. I would looove that tank. It's perfect.

I never have problems with heating my pond. It stays at 78° with no heater. But it might be cause mine is on the second floor of my house and yours is in a basement . You could also put a sheet of glass or acrylic to help with humidity.
