HELP --- RTC getting on my last nerve

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think if you are thinking about keeping this monster for life you will need a 3000 gal pond. Like most hobbiest who want to keep this cat they will never have a big enough tank for this fish. Why aren't you pro fish keepers talking about tank size like you do with the aros.

I am actually building a 5389.16 pond ;)

This tank and the slightly upgraded one to come, are both just to buy me some time :)

Being your building a pond I think the only thing that will live with that RTC is a Arapima.. But even then you'll have to grow it out a little so it doesn't get eaten..

You sound just like my wife now lol
It's a love/hate relationship ... I love the RTC, I hate what he is doing

Standing ovation for your "good-natured-ness" is due here. We don't need another flame war and your reaction was perfect! You are my new hero.

First 2 statements are totally agreeable. The third is a personal choice. The discussion has already naturally included some details along the tank size.

Strictly speaking though, I am of the mindset that those who reply to the OP's questions must stick to the questions asked to the best possible ability. Again, such is a general policy of most serious on-line forums. Things do differ in chats and tweets.

I believe you will find things will be much different in a 5400 gal pond versus 380 gal tank. Still, I'd be cautious - it sounds like your RTC is rather "rogue", different, unusual... Your descriptions can be understood but this is the first case for me to see such a predatory behavior from an RTC. He almost sounds like my TSN (named "Terroristo" for a good reason) I mentioned but then again, TSNs are in general by far and large more predatory than RTCs... IME and that of others.

Of course, general and average does not = always.

Yeah, gotta give it to this one, the most ummmm "Active" RTC I have had to date :)
Dropped the water level in the tank now, in prepping to move "The Beast"
For some weird reason, the lower water has made him more docile lol, strange things I tell you

.... AND AS I TYPE THAT, I hear splashing and knocking inside ... BRB lol

Did the research, to an extent and thought it was sound
Mistakes happen, gotta learn things with more than just READING sometimes
That being said ... lol, you're rude :)

well after the first fish was eaten that should have been lesson learned...
