Did i over pay for this Convict?

Well I've never seen a convict pass 4-5" and with that hump, I'm saying pretty good deal especially if u like it

I would have bought him, and I'm tight with money. While the species might not be worth much, that particular fish is gorgeous. Plus, what's an extra ten bucks really

yeah i tried telling him 15 but they wouldn't budge , i have a female salvini with him in a 65 gallon should i separate them and throw in my female con with him?

Convicts a quarter this size sells for about 3-4 dollars. No LFS order large convicts.It is probably a trade in or rather a take in, as no LFS will actually pay money to get convicts from us. so the 20 dollars are mostly profit-cost of keeping this fish alive in the store etc...

But to you, you can get a small convict either for 3-4 dollars or for free and spend a year or 2 to get it this big, or you spend $20...

It's all how you look at things.

If you want to shrill your non fish keeping friends with baby fish, sure. Just know that no one is gonna want baby convicts and being good parents they are, not many fish are going to eat the babies while the parents are around.

i had a male convict for 3 years he looked nothing liked this lol btw loved your 300 gallon tank setup , you still have it?

Yes I do but I almost lost half of my fish tonight. I came home and found my fish either lethargic or gasping for air...it turned out my power head slipped and was no longer agitating the surface of my tank. A quick change for cooler water and extra aeration saved all but one peacock...

Of course it had to be my dominant male sunshine! :( Anyway...not a great night.
