about to start building a 72x36x24 glass tank ( finally collected all the needed glass) and I either want to keep stingrays or ... discus ( the 2nd choice almost got me bankrupt once before but I'm willing to try again, cuz it seems like there will be less poo from discus than from stingrays ) anyways, I REALLY want to set up this kind of water change system and I got couple things on my mind:
like some said the only thing to worry here would be IF float valve won't close and water will be fed constantly - however like someone said that some emergency overflow can be installed so that IF id does happen the excess water can be drained - with that I think that this is the BEST WC SET UP !!! =]
someone said that the pumps can go dry - first of all you can make the final stage in the wet dry filter BIIIG enough so that even after draining your desired 10G or whatever there is still enough water to cover the pump - another could be to simply set two timers one on the pump that drains the tank, and another one to STOP the pump that pumps the water back to your tank at the same time that the other one turns on ... =] IDK I'm saying all this stuff only cuz I had a feeling like some people are trying hard to put this idea down, trying hard to come up with all the negative stuff lol - or maybe I'm just reading too much into it ...
