To each there own i always say. I would give away rays and Pbass for free if I had them..., it's why God made Chocolate and Vanilla.
I think it is pretty simple really...
If after cycling, one always has measurable ammonia and nitrite, you need more filters or reduce stock
If you have increasing nitrates even with regular WC, increase WC, reduce stock or add plants. Regular filters won't help in this situation.
If you sleep and dream of goldfish, I still say a couple of channel cats will cure this condition.
