convict x jack dempsey cross?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The answer is pretty obvious.............if it posted in this section it must be a hybrid. Where's the confusion?

Then I dont see a reason to say hybrid. Looks like a horse, sounds like a horse, must be zebra lol. Could be an oddball from the batch.

Sent from my Motorola Triumph

Body shape: convict
Coloration: jd spangles
Nose bridge: rounded, like a convict, not concave, like a Dempsey.

I'm pretty much 100% sure its a hybrid.

But the Q wasn't an ID. It's how to categorize them and what to expect.

Exactly. I'm not looking for an ID. Pics don't due it's justice as they were taken by a friend and texted to me. I'm looking for anything I should know about them. Like how parrots can have health problems, if Con x Dempsey hybrid is similar and can have deformities and health problem along like general max size and temperament.

Don't be 100% sure it's hybrid. The fish in question looks like a bleached out JD over the light sand. Be expect it to be healthy JD and reaches 8-10" and have same temperament of other JD :)

Lol really Tom? So if I go buy a Cichlid and its showing vertical bars that means it a Convict or Mayan hybrid? My whole point is people don't go around breeding JD x Con and passing them off as JD. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying it unlikely. Chances are its just a pale JD. I could look at a pic of a Blue Acara and come to the conclusion it is Green Terror x Convict but that doesn't mean it is.
