Could be high phosphates in supply water. A pic would help in identifying the greenness of the water

It's to green to be the glass tint. It does subside with a water change.
I'll get a pic from the side of the tank, that will show the green the most as the black background hides it a little. We have well water so it's naturally hard and a water softener is used as well. Possibly something from that?
^^ definitely possible, leave a bucket of water without anything out in the sun . If it turns green then we look more deeply into your supply water conditioning.
Else the tank lights and lastly the fish food being used .( some brand add a lot of phosphates)

Try hanging pothos into the tank. I've heard this helps with green water, and its a cheap thing to try 1st.
Dont do a water change for two weeks... Slow down feeding. Lower temps a bit.
everytime your putting new water in your giving fresh nutrients for the algea to grow. If you are baffled, empty the tank, scrub it, was it out, repeat once or twice, refill....

get some live plants man. you are only feeding the algae by having no plants in the tank and that many hours of light
I have plants in the tank.. tons of duckweed, frogbit and some type of plant from bulbs.
