i hve a 72x19x24 tank 130g i belive and thinking about adding one peacock bass in the tank, im going to have two fx5 up and going on it (one is up and running atm) second will be once i receive my media for it....i have a pair of oscar in the tank 7" and 10" and a few others cichlids as well, and some smaller ones which might become lunch which im preparred for (move the smaller ones to my 75g if needed)

now im curous as to how large they actually get in home aquariums in real world experince not what the books and net say, what is there growth rate ? how big do the bumps on the head of a males get ? is there any other specifics needed to keep these guys ? how big of a PB should i be looking at to purchase keeping in mind i dont want him to pass the other fish in the tank and decide he wants to eat everyone, would much rather him be smallish sized so that everyone has the chance to grow larger before he does to keep the peace somewhat... i mean that buy if fish grow up together that get along well in all of my case's they have, but yes there is the exception and i understand it as well..

any help would be great thanks rob

6' long tank is alright depending on if you get the "smaller" sp. of bass. BUT, 19'' wide is the problem.

Problem is that a 125 gallon tank is only 18" front to back they really need to be in a 24" minimum for any period of time. If you can get larger even better. And size wise they will out grow 18 inches even if its not the best conditions and this will lead to death sooner for the fish. Overall allot of money waisted

Well my 130gal tank is 19" wide yes... Smaller size ya mean like a kelberi if that's how spell it ? Or what kind of the smaller size do ya mean ?

And ideally I'd love to purchase a 300 gal tank... Something along the line of 7'Lx3'Wx24"H .... Just have to either find one for sale or find someone to make one for me lol

Just go buy one if you know best but you need a tank that is going to give more floor space.

If you go with your demensions of 6*19*24 it a good grow out tank but if you can find the 315g or larger with the depth of 3'plus it will be best for them. Ideally you want a 96*48*24 for almost a sp of pbass. They love the room
