best flowerhorn food

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well that was about as clear as mud. lol

Obviously there are differences in the quality of ingredients, which is why low quality pellets produce low quality results. BTW - best bang for your buck is NLS, not Hikari. 5lb's of Hikari Bio-Gold costs almost double of what 5lb's of NLS retails for.

Spot on!

I have always used hikari with ever other fish I have owned and have always luved the results. I'm going to pickup NLS and order GS online and give them a shot. I'm giving them hikari bio gold right now and they are living it as long as I put it in the tank they will eat until I cut them off bc they look like they are going to pop. I am going to put a divider in my 55 to stick the runt in to try and bulk him up a little with some of the other foods.

So moral of the story I can't go wrong with hikari, NLS and GS.

Here are some pix from my phone

If you are happy with the results that you get with Hikari then just keeping feeding that.

I don't get the clear as mud part..

yeah for 5 lb NLS is it I guess.. But I've never ordered that much food b4. I used to get the 8oz Hikari at the store for 8-9$ .. Hikari is the reason why I think all pellets are almost the same because they are cheap compared to expensive food..

I got a5" Festae that the old owner fed Hikari and he is super vibrant.. And thinking back to my old roommate years ago with his Dovii pair; he fed Hikari green pellets and they were also vibrant blue, shiny, and so beautiful..

Im waiting to feed NLS for the first time soon. I heard good things about NLS all the time

Ty for the photos. They get along ok? Mine is as mean as piss and snake bites. I like the looks of them. Do you think seperating them could cause social issues? Keep us up on photos is ok to add u on friend list we can watch em grow up. Ill try to do a size test for u on mine

animal guy .......... there is a LOT more to a premium fish food, than just what kind of colors it produces in a fish. A common mistake made by many hobbyists - thinking that a colorful fish equates to a healthy fish. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Hikari is the reason why I think all pellets are almost the same because they are cheap compared to expensive food..

Not sure I understand what your point was/is?

Also, I don't know anyone that buys fish food in 8 oz bags which is why I compared the sticker price of the larger containers. :)

oh.. Because Hikari is safe, make the fish look beautiful and healthy. And they are cheap.. And when I feed XO humpy, GS, CM I dont see much difference..

Im looking for one with a flower under his eyes kinda like a tear drop. Hope you get a pair out of them. Will follow your post.
