Hey guys, I am at college now. According to the policy about pets for my University, fish are the only pets allowed (YES!). However, they are to be kept in a tank no larger than 5 gallons, and heaters/filters are not permitted as they can pose a fire hazard. While I do not necessarily agree with that policy, I still want to obey the rules and keep a fish in my room. I have a 5 gallon tank at home that I am planning on bringing back with me to my room next time I go home.
So, the question is, what recommendations do you guys have for what fish I should put in it. Keep in mind that my room temperature is about 68 degrees Fahrenheit, and no heaters or filters are permitted. Another question is, should I even keep a fish? Without a filter I know I would have to do frequent water changes, which I am willing to do. Are there species of fish ideal for my setup? Any suggestions welcome.
