Southern Painted Turtles would be pushing it since it's only 12" wide.

A community of small-mid sized cichlids(4-8 inchers). Just don't get tall cichlids.

That tank is only about 50 gallons. Why do you have a 110 gallon sump?

Pushing sure, but no worrying about atrophying the turtle's growth. Chances are his tank will go bust from old age before a SPT gets to around the max 6-10 inches anyways. Especially since the tank is already used.

i seriously doubt the tank will fail, its made from 3/8 plate and i resealed it.

Tanks don't just "bust" from old age. I have a tank that's around 20 years old, and I bet it will last for another 20.

I like the freshwater turtle idea as long as they are smaller like razorbacks or loggerhead.
