Sad sorry lfs cruelty.

I can assure you I will make it my life goal to close this place, under fed flee ridden dogs and cats, store smells like a litter box, fish are in-properly housed, disgusting.
It is a puppy mill, it has been in the news paper multiple times. I cant believe a member is even sticking up for them, funny he didn't say anything in the beginning, its obvious he talked to the manager and showed him this thread, maybe he got a sick fish out of it for free?
I know plenty of fk here in indy, and I can assure you they won't ever frequent this store again, complaint with bbb filed, and I'm in the midst of protesting outside the shop with fellow animal lovers in the coming weeks, its absolutely disgusting, anyone who walks in there can see that its all about money and no care for animal life.

This is for the animals, this goes against everything we stand for, even if you dont like me set that aside for one second and realise if you shop at any UB location your supporting animal cruelty.
There is another protest soon, and I will be there, its not just the fish, its everything. Dhardwick has obviously recieved an incentive to post this, exposed, pics are proof and I saw it in person!

That is just awful! seriously you would think for them to be selling Piranha's they would have to know at least some basic information about them... the babies are highly cannibalistic even slightl larger ones will eat the smaller ones, so keeping them like this is just asking for them to be eaten. and the way the woman talks to you is bad cause you would think that they would try to make people feel welcome and want to buy from them. I would maybe also think about putting in a complaint with your local animal cruelty society (not sure what its called in the US)
There is a really good LFS in my city who agreed to take my cichlids when I traded them in, not only did he keep trying to get the trade in value lower and lower, he was trying to say that I had left certain fish at home when they were clearly in the box and he was looking at them. I had a argument with him and eventually got him to honour the original price over the phone. I swear sometimes LFS are just rude for no real reason. he was giving the whole "I don't need these fish I am trading them as a good will gesture" but its not like I had a tank of convicts, I had some pretty rare Cichlids including a malawi trout.

I received no incentive to post about what you've said in fact I receive a lot of grief for worrying my reef (another lfs) hat in there all the time and you know who I am I'm the one who bought the fish that used to be in your 125g . I get alot of my feeders from there and also know most of the fish room employees. I'm sure I know who the girl your talking about is, she probably was rude to you and I dont dispute that at all she came from the east side store I think.I have taken a few fish off of them , from people who got in over their head. As far as the dogs I dont go there for dogs but I honestly have never personally seen an unhealthy dogs our cats. I'm not saying it's the best but it's no worse than any other chain store. I was there monday which I think is when your saying you were there and didn't see what your asserting I went back tonite and still no Paranha being eaten. You said the tank is a 38g it's not it's roughly 100g split in half which would make it 50g. Since they keep the rbps they order are on the wall on the other side of that center tank so I would guess someone brought them in so they probably came from the same person and the same tank. And as to why he posted this I'm not sure.I'm not trying to did you alan I just dont see all of you statements being accurate. Sorry if I have offended anyone just how I saw it
Regardless of tank size housing large rbp with babies for any length of time is a nono. Even if the tank was a 120, it still not acceptable. He wouldn't be going through all of this trouble if he were lying. Why make something like this up? The fact that management blew him off is also shady on their part. As for being 'better than chain stores', chain stores do not sell dogs they adopt dogs out and when a complaint is filed you bet your arse they'd be scrambling to apologize or fix it. They do have a good selection I give them that, but I've honestly not been shown that the employees care about the fish, only that they'll tell anyone what they need to hear to sell them. Maybe it's different now, that was 2 years ago. Not looking that way though.
Their clearly in the same tank Bro, don't question my honesty and integrity, if that's your favorite lfs fine.
As for the fish you got, I just wanted a good home for them, I didn't even get a dime of that 50$, it was for a friend. 1 huge RTC, a nice large colorful Oscar and a huge peacock bass basically for free (50$) because I believe(d) that you were a stand up guy and I couldn't take the fact they were crammed into a 125 in someone's garage not adequately cared for, I've even kept in touch with you since then to make sure the fish are ok and I made you send me pics of your setups to make sure they were going to a good home.
I can't even believe you could stoop this low and I'm speechless, I re home a lot of fish for people and I will no longer be keeping in contact with you.
Lying is simply making this worse, I'm done with you. Please take care of the monsters I helped you attain, and BTW the store manager told me each section of tank is roughly 38-40 gallons. Can't believe you would stab me in the back like that after I helped you out....

Hahaha just talked to the manager, 4 people have walked in there and showed them this thread lol, he said "predatory fish (regardless of size) are supposed to be together like they are in the wild!"
Do to mfk popular opinion he said on WEDNESDAY they put them in their proper tanks and they are no longer housed together (confirming they once were) and the employee from the get go has been dealt with, so I'm done, he said if I ever want to come back to ask for him and he would help me out, I told him not likely.
Looks like we have a few members with a lot of time on their hands brown nosing for personal gain, but hey Atleast the fish are "supposedly" properly housed!
They said they called me yesterday but my phone was busy, my phone has voicemail and always works. Just an excuse, if I have a problem with someone its not going away to its resolved.
Thanks for all the massive support guys, all pm's recieved, and the protest will still occur, as there are MANY dog lovers out there that are more furious then me.
I will once again say that the assistant manager was a good guy and admitted his faults. I feel bad for him, its not like he built the business this way and that's what I told him.
There is a good fish shop in indy that has gone through some recent major renovations and I was very impressed with the new store and employees this past week! The REEF
And hey, there's always great people online that have great fish, better off adopting fish that need homes!
