Is the price for zebra plecos going to increase or decrease? I want to know if now is a good time to buy some for my tank while they cost how much before increasing or will the price to down with all the people breeding them.
Yeah I thought that's illegal to import wild l46 zebras?i would think the price would go down because all lithe breeders.I would guess they should decrease but what do I know. Its funny because they are fairly easy to breed in captivity but yet the whole "banned" stigma and breeder's stiff pricing kept the price high. I see unungy has gotten in wild caught L46 now and the price is still sky high, I don't get it.
they take very long to to mature...so it keeps the price high
Sad that ppl would let them getaway with charging stacks of money for a 1" fish by buying from them and increasing their reassurance that it is ok to sell a fish for that much. People are insane spending that for a pleco when you could buy like 5 cichlids for that. You would think so but its because you cannot import them that breeders are taking advantage of that and still charging a lot for them. Supply and demand.

LOL! I wonder where unungy got the 125 wild caught L46 he has on aquabid at the moment. Right now there are more zebra plecos for sale on aquabid than any other pleco it seems.
they are not the only pleco that doesn't need a 6ft tank! you can try other Hypancistrus pleco because most(if not all) of them max out at about 5'' or lessDarn it. I guess I'll have to wait 10 years until these beautiful little guys are affordable. I love the fact that they're the only pleco that doesn't need a 6 foot aquarium. besides those ugly bristlenose plecs
