Some clubs are more kid-friendly than others. Our monthly meetings typically have ~70 adults and 10-15 kids of varying ages and are held at a high school cafeteria that has a secure (fenced) playground out back. We also have food, coloring/crafts, a kid's raffle and other stuff to keep kids busy.
I bring my three kids (2, 2 and 7) to most meetings...which is (or should be) a reason for my wife to LOVE fish club weekends. I usually have to duck out for awhile but it beats not being able to go.
Anywhere takes about an hour to get to in Metro DC!

The nearest club is in Portland, over an hour's drive away. If it weren't for my two toddlers I might try it out, but it would mean being gone for an entire evening once a month. I don't think it would help endear the fishkeeping hobby to my wife....
Nothing real close to me. Rockford has a reef club but im not a saltwater keeper and chicago has the gcca but i really dislike going into the city. I guess i should look them up again. If anyone knows of others within an hour or so of rockford, IL. i would be happy to know about them.

I was interested in the chicago aquatic gardeners association but they only accept people from chicago. None of the other ones trip my fancy or are quite a ways for me to go.

I was a member of our local fish forum, but got kicked off. They accused me of trying to link to a site that was selling. What I did was link something to help another member, but there was something in the header of the website, that made the MODS think I was "selling". It wasn't the case at all. I like how MFK doesn't B*tch about stuff like that. Way more professional. The reason I'm not a part of any fish club, is because it's the same nerds that run the club that run the forum. They wouldn't even let me plead my case. It's a joke.
