You guys are in for a MAJOR disappointment....statring with this one Feast for Crows.....
it gets slightly better in Dance with Dragons, but only because the POW's are by more interesting characters.

Martin is completely lost in the world he created.....

Yeah, i heard they get worse. :( But I am only on Clash of Kings so plenty more awesomeness. I am about halfway through it. Hopefully I can finish in the next couple months.

those first volumes are awesome. Read them 10 years ago.

Then it was a wait of years for Feast, and even more years for DoD.

What a waste. What a disappointment

"We were soilders once, and young" about the Ia drang valley during vietnam and just finished "With the old breed" by Eugene Sledge

yeah, i can already tell (thought i'm 1000 pages in) can't say too much without spoilers but didn't the author's personal health have something to do with his writing going downhill? i'm finding myself disappointed that some of the next moves are being telegraphed way ahead of time. i hate knowing what happens before it happens. i don't mind knowing the ending but the storyline inbetween shouldn't be predictable

i'm also reading to break up the pace of boring walking around in freakin storm of swords

Nothing happens in Feast...

period.

I cut relations with James Pattersson long ago.

His ALex Cross series was very god. Then he started crapping it ( the last ones are unbearable ) and started launching new writers in the worst possible way.

A good writer turned into a money making machine in the worst sense, imho

There were definitely a couple of bad ones as of late but the last 2 or 3 are back on track imo. I don't have as much time as I'd like to these days so I tend to stick with what I'm familiar with.
