After 2 month on hikari sticks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
he's looking good yan! de isn't that noticeable compared to mine. i think i feed mine too much silvers & shrimp because my aro is fatter :) i probably should feed him the hikari food more. i noticed how you only have your tank partially filled & your tank on a low stand to limit looking down.

I haven't gotten recent pictures of DE (left eye), it has gotten worse since it first started. I think a fat arowana is more beautiful! I just feed mine sticks because I can't afford the good stuff all the time. A bag of jumbo sticks usually last me 2-3 months. I am thinking about ording some superworms online too, maybe around 300-500 of them. Last week I fed it some shrimp. The following days after shrimp, it was eating sticks like there's no tomorrow, I don't know why but I guess it has gotten use to sticks daily, hopefully it stays that way though.
Yeah, the water is only filled half way. I do it so that it won't be able to jump out of the tank (hopefully). The lower the water, the more vertical the fish has to jump, therefore making it a bit harder to jump out. But I also like the look of being able to see the fish from above and through the glass. My stand is also quite low, it does make water changes much easier. But I do think that there is much more to DE than we think we know.

i have been rotating between the hikari jumbo carnisticks, frozen cooked shrimp & what's left of the silvers, i think its good to vary the diet. shrimp in my opinion is easier to prep than the silvers since its easier to thaw them & they're cooked so they don't get all mushy like silvers do. i was also thinking about superworms, if you get some let me know how you aro likes them.
that's also a good idea for keeping a low water level. when i first got my aro i had him in a 75g & she jumped out once & i was lucky to be in the other room & heard it. after that i kept the entire tank covered w/ glass tops & i'm lucky that the 220g acyrlic tank shes in now has a covered top w/ 2 openings w/ fitted covers. she is able to jump & move them so now i have 5lbs weights on them just in case.

I bought some supeworms from petsmart, my arowana really likes them. But I only give it superworms after sticks. Works really well.
