need your advice on my sump set up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is the dump to the sump. I installed a valve but it dosent seen to be working unless i have practicly closed. Any ideas? I checked the tank and it is level. Dont mind the duct tape it was was a temp hold to get everything plumbed.

Are the pipes same vertical length from each over flow? I think as long as it is should be the same water velocity draining down. My old tank's overflows piping was similar design as yours as one side travel distance to the sump was shorter then the other but both pipes vertically length wise were the same and one side water had to travel horizontally further then the other.

They both are at the same vert height. The longer tube dips below the other as you can see here right before it hits the sump. ???

Could it because the shorter feed line turns back up over a return line?

If it has to travel upwards that might cause a bit of loss of gph but as I see on your piping it doesn't travel far upwards. The longer pipe is the one that trickles less water?

The shorter line should look like it drains water faster out of the pipe but if your vert lines are the same length it should be draining the same amount of water from the overflows. I'm no plumbing expert but that's what I was told from a friend who is somewhat knowledge with plumbing. Correct me if I'm wrong.
