Bingo - there you go

It takes regular cotton floss - line the whole filter with it, surrounding the green base of the pump. There should be a green platform with many holes in it (like an undergravel filter board) on the bottom of the "box" (I just saw that you do have it - but yours is white.)

This model is called the Super King... Supreme Aqua King made by Danner... The Super King had the rectangular outlet and was the largers one they made. The smaller units had round outlet tubes like the pic I posted.... Yours should push around 900gph

Yes, I know the box goes in the water, but I only have two hands so I took the picture outside the tank.
**I honestly believe it is impossible to start a siphon with this tube going into the tank. Everytime I get it started (with the box inside the tank of course) it draws water OUT of the box, plus the pull of the pump itself, the box goes dry, and nothing else happens.

Help????

You don't have enough U tubes .. The one you are using isn't enough to keep up with the pump.. You need more U pieces... And you have to suck the air out of the Tube with a small air hose to start the siphon...The box should hang on the outside of the tank...

Agreed, but the water never starts coming into the box AT ALL. Maybe two would help, but if I can never get water flowing the correct direction, I don't know if an extra tube will help.

Thats how I got it started. (Saw a DIY video on here a few days ago, or I would have had no idea how to do that) But when it starts, it goes out of the tank.
I really feel stupid because I know now this is how it is supposed to work, but it can't be that hard to get this siphon moving the right direction.

Take out the pump and U piece.... And hang the box on the back of the tank... Place the pump so it drains into the tank..... Hang the U piece in the tank and the other end in the box.. Suck the air out and take a picture so we can see.... :)

Is the waterlevel in the fishtank higher or lower than the level in the filterbox? (I mean when you hang it on the back, your tank-water level should be slightly higher or equal to the maximum filling level of the filter box. If it is lower, then of course the syphon will go the wrong way.
Water will try to level itself, so by topping up the tank to a higher level, eventually the syphon will start in the correct direction).

Good luck, very nice find and amazing good condition.
