I am about to start building my Tanganyika cichlid tank, but still have problems choosing what to keep, I was thinking about these two scenarios:
Mixed species, but must include Black or White Calvus
Or
Tropheus tank, not sure which ones, but probably Bemba or Ikola or Duboisi.
Planning to start off with 55g (don't really want to upgrade yet, but its planned some time soon. If needed, can upgrade to a 75g quite soon, but for bigger, would have to wait.)
Filtration would be done by Fluval FX5.
So the main question is, what would you recommend for the stock for now, 55g? How many Tropheus or what species and how many for mixed set up?
Should I condition the water in the tank even tho the fish that I will get was breed in captivity many times?
Is sand a good substrate for this fish? What fraction?
Does Tropheus need hiding spots?
Thank you in advance for you answers
